Yvonne Kgwarae
Chairperson
Ms. Yvonne Kgwarae has over 14 years’ experience in communications and advocacy, specialising in Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC), relationship management, and capacity building. She is passionate about uplifting communities through impactful communication strategies.
Prof. Tiny Masupe
Vice Chairperson
Dr. Masupe is a senior lecturer and assistant program director for MMed Public Health at the University of Botswana. With degrees in Medicine, Public Health, and Occupational Medicine, she is also a PhD fellow in NCDs. She has led global health projects and excelled as an educator and leader.
Keletso Gaongalelwe
Treasurer
Keletso Gaongalelwe has 14 years of experience in the Banking Industry. She is an effective Relationship Manager with extensive experience in account management, business development and campaign management. Her service will provide prudent finance management and effective
fundraising activities. Keletso has a Masters of Science in Strategic Management and B.A Communications.
Dr. Teddie Rahibe
Committee Chair, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation
Dr. Teddie Rahube, a Senior Lecturer with 10+ years in academia, researches antibiotic-resistant bacteria and plasmids across clinical and non-clinical settings. He advocates for Next-Gen sequencing technologies in Botswana and Africa, focusing on One Health and global health solutions.
Kago Komane
Committee Chair Communications and Advocacy
Ms. Kago Komane, an investigative journalist and freelancer, is passionate about health reporting and exposing injustices. With experience at the Botswana Gazette and INK Centre, she was a 2014 MISA health reporting nominee, highlighting key health and human rights issues through her work.
Boitshoko Nyameko Sello
Committee Chair, Membership and Resource Mobilization
Boitshoko Nyameko Sello is an experienced event coordinator at BOSA and a dedicated volunteer at the Baylor Adolescent Centre. Passionate about community service, she recently joined the Anti Tobacco Network as a board member, bringing her expertise and commitment to youth-focused initiatives.
Cynthia Pilane
Committee Chair, Tobacco Dependence and Cessation
Ms. Cynthia Pilane has 42 years of nursing experience, specializing in TB, neonatal care, palliative care, and HIV/AIDS. A retired nurse, she advocates for public health and aims to apply her extensive skills and leadership in community-focused initiatives.
Prof. Bontle Mbongwe
Board Secretary
Associate Professor Bontle Mbongwe, Head of the School of Public Health at the University of Botswana, is a tobacco control leader and founder of the Anti Tobacco Network (ATN). Her research on toxic exposures and health impacts has influenced policy and earned global recognition.
